At first I didn’t like Brussels and I almost wanted to leave. It was crowded and I hated walking along its streets with beggars, looney people, and the smell of pee on street corners. It also didn’t help that the Manneken Pis, the peeing child statue, proved to be one of the most overrated tourist attraction in Europe.
Then I gave the city a chance, explored its nooks, and met the most amazing people on my last night. I realized that sometimes, just when I’m about to reach my breaking point on a journey, that’s when the good stuff comes.
And as touristy as this sounds, I gave in to the waffles. I think they were really good. :)
